Urban Planning-- November 2008
Revitalizing Jefferson Row, Downtown Syracuse Charrette
An intense 3-day, all-day-all-night project

My group won first place for our design in an urban planning project. We proposed a series of a solutions for revitalizing Jefferson Row, a partly abandoned area in downtown Syracuse. Our plan spawned from the simple notion that good food will gather more people.

Availability of food was a major set back for the current area. That is primarily why we decided it was necessary to impliment an entire row of restaurants and cafes that we called "Culinary Row". The first addition to "Culinary Row" would be a wine and beer tasting bar. This would serve for both day and night traffic flow and would showcase Syracuse We selected retail to cater to college students, locals, and eventually tourists.
